League recap: LaMoure/Litchville-Marion climbs in standings with win

9-Man Region 1 (9 Man) recap Sept. 26, 2012

LaMoure/Litchville-Marion was the team that gained the most ground in the standings this week, jumping from seventh to fourth in 9-Man Region 1 (9 Man). The Loboes beat Hankinson 28-0 earlier in the week.

Wyndmere/Lidgerwood extended the longest winning streak in the league this week by beating Sargent Central, 16-14. The victory was the sixth in a row for the team.

Richland's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Brady Heyen threw for 16 yards and Kayne Griffith had 16 yards receiving. On the ground Griffith chipped in 370 yards.

Richland's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Colts feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Matthew Workin has thrown for 154 yards and three touchdowns this season, while Griffith has eight catches for 162 yards. Griffith leads the league in rushing with 1586 yards.

The marquee game in 9-Man Region 1 (9 Man) this week will be the clash between Strasburg/Zeeland and the Pirates. The Clippers enters the game ranked 23rd in the state, while Hankinson ranks sixth.

Napoleon/Gackle-Streeter took down Ellendale 44-8 last week, the largest margin of any game.
