Volleyball Recap: Wayne Triumphs

Wayne's game last Tuesday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Tuesday. They walked away with a 3-1 victory over the Milford Tigers. This was payback for the Badgers, who suffered a 3-2 defeat the last time these two teams met.

Wayne had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next three. The match finished with set scores of 11-25, 25-20, 25-23, 25-15.

Madilynn Jacobson was the offensive standout of the match as she had 12 digs and two aces.

Jacobson wasn't the only good server: Wayne was lethal from the service line and finished the game with ten aces. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Milford only served nine aces.

The win got Wayne back to even at 1-1. As for Milford, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-4.

We've got plenty of inter-region action coming up soon. Wayne is set to take on their familiar foe Escalante at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Milford will square off against rival Water Canyon at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday.
