Cumberland is 7-1 against Sangamon Valley/Tri-City since September of 2016 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. The Pirates will head out on the road to face off against the Storm at 7:00 p.m. Sangamon Valley/Tri-City took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on Cumberland, who comes in off a win.

Cumberland's defense heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Friday. They claimed a resounding 40-0 win over Arcola. The Pirates haven't had any issues with the Purple Riders recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive victory against them.

Meanwhile, Sangamon Valley/Tri-City came up short against Nokomis on Friday and fell 28-20. While the Storm had to settle for second, they closed the game well in the third quarter, where they outscored the Redskins 20-8.

Sangamon Valley/Tri-City dropped their record down to 1-4 with the defeat, which was their third straight at home. As for Cumberland, their win bumped their record up to 4-1.

Cumberland was able to grind out a solid victory over Sangamon Valley/Tri-City in their previous matchup back in September of 2024, winning 14-7. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Pirates since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
