After flying high against Northern Adirondack on Tuesday, Plattsburgh came back down to earth. The Hornets took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Beekmantown Eagles on Thursday. The Hornets' loss signaled the end of their five-game winning streak.

While Plattsburgh ultimately came up short, they really made Beekmantown work, particularly in the first set. The match finished with set scores of 26-24, 25-23, 23-25, 25-12.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Beekmantown to victory, but perhaps none more so than Julia Conroy, who had 19 kills, 17 digs, two aces, and one block. Those 19 kills gave Conroy a new career-high. Ava Dauphinais was another key player, getting 15 digs, three aces, and one block.

Plattsburgh's defeat dropped their record down to 10-3. As for Beekmantown, they pushed their record up to 13-1 with the victory, which was their eighth straight on the road dating back to last season.
