Baseball Recap: Monterey Comes Up Short

Monterey lost against Lubbock last Tuesday, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. Monterey fell just short of Lubbock by a score of 4-2. The Plainsmen have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Bryce Alexander was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-3. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in doubles (two).

Monterey's loss dropped their record down to 3-18-1. As for Lubbock, they are on a roll lately: they've won 14 of their last 15 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-6-1 record this season.

Monterey will venture away from home to take on Tascosa at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Lubbock, they will host Amarillo at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Amarillo will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something Lubbock surely won't give up without a fight.
