Basketball Recap: Mattanawcook Comes Up Short

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Mattanawcook can now relate to. They fell to the Penobscot Valley Howlers 42-37. Unfortunately, that's the third time they've come up short against the Howlers this season, with their most recent defeat being a 46-36 loss on February 4th.

Mattanawcook's defeat dropped their record down to 19-3. As for Penobscot Valley, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 22-0.

Mattanawcook does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Penobscot Valley, they will square off against Hall-Dale at 7:05 p.m. on March 1st. Penobscot Valley's defense has only allowed 23.7 points per game this season, so Hall-Dale's offense will have their work cut out for them.
