MaxPreps Academy Top 10 presented by the Army National Guard

1. (No. 2 last week) Findlay Prep (Henderson, Nev.), 18-0
The Pilots continued their mastery over local rival Bishop Gorman (Las Vegas) with a 65-45 victory Monday night. A monster showdown with No. 2 Montverde Academy looms large Jan. 21.

2. (3) Montverde Academy (Fla.), 15-0
Preseason Xcellent 25 No. 1 Simeon (Chicago) was no match for Kevin Boyle's Eagles at the Cancer Research Classic.

3. (4) St. Benedict's Prep (Newark, N.J.), 12-0
The Gray Bees stayed perfect Sunday with an 86-64 win over Hackensack at the New Year's Jump-Off behind 20 points and 11 rebounds from senior forward Michael Young.

4. (7) Prime Prep (Dallas), 9-0
Prime Prep's convincing win over then-No. 1 Huntington Prep (W.Va.) at the Cancer Research Classic leaves only one question unanswered for the Deion Sanders charter school: Does it have a nickname/mascot?

5. (5) La Lumiere (LaPorte, Ind.), 15-1
Oklahoma State-bound guard Detrick Mostella continued his big season for the Lakers, scoring a team-high 17 points in a 51-46 win over perennial Michigan power Detroit Country Day (Beverly Hills) on Saturday.

6. (1) Huntington Prep (W.Va.), 15-1
The Express had a rough outing against Prime Prep but bounced back the following day with a win over a talented Wesleyan Christian Academy (High Point, N.C.) outfit at the Chance Harman Classic.

7. (6) Oak Hill Academy (Mouth of Wilson, Va.), 17-2
After an extended absence, the Warriors face Ro Russell's Toronto Academy on Friday.

8. (8) Sunrise Christian Academy (Bel Aire, Kan.), 16-0
This week should be SCA's most challenging of the season. The Buffaloes will head to the Penny Hardaway Hoopfest in Memphis to take on local powers Memphis East and Ridgeway.

9. (NR) High Point Christian Academy (N.C.), 14-2

It was tempting to go with aforementioned NCISAA rival Wesleyan Christian Academy here. That debate will be settled in short order as the teams meet Tuesday and again on Jan. 29.

10. (9) Montrose Christian (Rockville, Md.), 9-3
The Mustangs were stunned by unbeaten Theodore Roosevelt (Washington, D.C.) over the weekend but will have opportunities to make up ground this month with games against No. 3 St. Benedict's Prep and No. 7 Oak Hill Academy.

Dropped out: No. 10 Benedictine (Richmond, Va.)
