Basketball Recap: St. James Now 3-1 over Last Four Games

St. James won the last time they faced West Florence and things went their way on Tuesday too. The St. James Sharks walked away with a 41-34 victory over the West Florence Knights. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Sharks.

Several Knights players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Gabreille Gunter, who almost dropped a double-double on 13 points and nine boards. Another player making a difference was Kara Fluharty, who posted two points in addition to six steals, five boards, and four blocks.

St. James has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 6-3 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 25.5 points per game. As for West Florence, they dropped their record down to 0-6 with the loss, which was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season.

St. James wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 43-30 defeat against Powdersville on the 20th. As for West Florence, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 35-30 loss against Cheraw on the 21st.
