Basketball Game Preview: Northeast Hurricanes vs. Liberty Lions

The Northeast Hurricanes and the Liberty Lions will face off at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday without much rest having both just played. Northeast is coming into the game on a six-game losing streak.

Northeast saw some tournament action on Friday. They took a 59-52 hit to the loss column at the hands of Redwood. While the Hurricanes didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Giants 11-7 in the first quarter.

Liberty has been a dominant force so far, but they're in the middle of a mini-slump at the moment. They fell 55-47 to Etiwanda on Friday. The contest marked the Lions' lowest-scoring match so far this season.

Northeast will have to keep a close watch on Jackson Hunter and TJ Harris, a pair of players who had a big impact on Liberty's prior game. Hunter went 6 for 13 on his way to 16 points and five rebounds, while Harris went 6 of 14 on his way to 12 points and five rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Stephan Miller, who posted eight points.

Liberty's defeat ended a six-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 8-3. As for Northeast, their loss dropped their record down to 2-7.
