Baseball Game Preview: Vacaville Bulldogs vs. Alameda Hornets

The Vacaville Bulldogs will head out on the road to face off against the Alameda Hornets at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Vacaville will be looking to extend their current five-game winning streak.

On Thursday, Vacaville beat River City 7-3.

Dallas West tossed a big game, striking out six batters over six innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off three hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Caden Whitten was a standout: he scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-3. Dom Yacovetti was another key player, scoring a run while going 2-for-4.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Alameda, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Thursday. They came out on top against Arroyo by a score of 6-2 on Tuesday. The win continues a trend for the Hornets in their matchups with the Dons: they've now won three in a row.

Vacaville's victory bumped their record up to 12-6. As for Alameda, they now have a winning record of 6-5.

Vacaville came out on top in a nail-biter against Alameda in their previous meeting back in March of 2024, sneaking past 3-1. Do the Bulldogs have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Hornets turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
