Softball Recap: Crescenta Valley Picks Up Third Consecutive Win

Mark Keppel typically has all the answers at home, but on Monday Crescenta Valley proved too difficult a challenge. They were the clear victors by an 8-1 margin over the Aztecs. Winning may never get old, but the Falcons sure are getting used to it with their third in a row.

Chloe Mulcahey spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on six hits and racked up eight Ks. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Alexa Johnson was incredible, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 3-for-4. Hannah Wyroski also deserves some recognition as she hit her first triple of the season.

Johnson wasn't the only one making solid contact: Crescenta Valley kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in five consecutive matchups.

Crescenta Valley's record is now 9-4. As for Mark Keppel, their loss dropped their record down to 10-4.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Crescenta Valley will take on Hoover at 3:45 p.m. on Tuesday. The Falcons will need to watch out since the Tornados have now posted at least ten runs in their last four games. As for Mark Keppel, they will challenge Montebello at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
