Valley Christian had won five straight at home dating back to last season, but on Friday they bumped up to 5-0 to make it six. They strolled past the Crismon Rattlers with points to spare, taking the game 28-14. The Trojans pushed the score to 28-7 by the end of the third, a deficit the Rattlers cut but never quite recovered from.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Valley Christian to victory, but perhaps none more so than Austin Schuder, who rushed for 113 yards on only ten carries, and also threw for 101 yards and a pair of TDs. Caden Palmquest was in the mix as well, providing the Trojans with three scores.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Valley Christian was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 210 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 162 rushing yards in seven consecutive matches dating back to last season.

As for Crismon, they now have a losing record of 2-3. The contest marked their lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Crismon's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Walker Higbee, who rushed for 80 yards and one touchdown.

Looking ahead, Valley Christian will challenge Benjamin Franklin at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Chargers' defense has only allowed 10.6 points per game this season, so the Trojans' offense will have their work cut out for them. As for Crismon, they will square off against ALA - Mesa North at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Rattlers are facing the Mavericks at the right time seeing as the Mavericks are stuck on a three-game losing streak.
