Basketball Game Preview: Pekin Dragons vs. Metamora Redbirds

Pekin hasn't had much luck against Metamora recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Dragons will venture away from home to challenge the Redbirds at 7:00 p.m. Pekin has given up an average of 56.8 points per game this season, but Friday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

On Tuesday, Pekin had to suffer through a 64-33 loss at the hands of Morton. While losing is never fun, the Dragons can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 569th, while the Potters are ranked 122nd).

Meanwhile, Metamora was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Tuesday as they fell 56-51 to Canton.

Pekin's loss dropped their record down to 1-5. As for Metamora, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-3.

Pekin lost to Metamora on the road by a decisive 63-48 margin when the teams last played back in February. Can the Dragons avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
