Polytechnic hadn't done well against Rio Hondo Prep recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Thursday. The Panthers came out on top against the Kares by a score of 6-3. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Panthers.

Amelia Shih spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned runs on eight hits and racked up eight Ks. She has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Eila Chan, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances with one triple, two RBI, and one run. That triple was her first of the season. Carthan Connolly was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one home run.

Polytechnic's win bumped their record up to 5-2. As for Rio Hondo Prep, their loss dropped their record down to 4-2.
