Basketball Recap: Meadow Bridge Takes Loss Despite Strong Performances from Lily Hayes and Kierston Rozell

Meadow Bridge was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They took a 45-36 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Sherman Tide. The Wildcats were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Tide apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in February of 2024.

Meadow Bridge's loss came despite strong showings from Kierston Rozell and Lily Hayes. Rozell posted 15 points and four blocks, while Hayes earned nine points. What's more, Hayes also racked up two blocks, the most she's had since back in December of 2023.

Meadow Bridge's loss dropped their record down to 3-5. As for Sherman, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 5-7.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Meadow Bridge has already played their next game (against Paden City), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Sherman will head out on the road to square off against Wirt County at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday.
