Basketball Recap: Cyprus Pirates vs. Syracuse Titans
Cyprus was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their 14th straight loss dating back to last season. They took a blow against the Syracuse Titans, falling 76-35. The Pirates were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 41-17.
Leading Syracuse to victory were Kyleigh Nielson and Maylee Anderson. Nielson went 6 of 7 from beyond the arc en route to 27 points and six assists, while Anderson went 7 of 11 on her way to 17 points along with five assists and four steals. Those 27 points gave Nielson a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Olivia Sorenson, who made all 5 shots she took to post 10 points.
