Soccer Game Preview: Kings Mountain vs. Crest

The Kings Mountain Mountaineers are taking a road trip to take on the Crest Chargers at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.

As a matter of fact, Kings Mountain put up the most points they have all season on Monday. They never let North Gaston get on the board and left with a 5-0 win. The victory continues a trend for Kings Mountain in their matchups with North Gaston: they've now won four in a row.

Kings Mountain hit North Gaston with a four-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Taylor B (2), Elyn Prongsa, Brooke Salvalor, and Naomi H.

Meanwhile, Crest had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 5.7 goals) and they went ahead and made it four on Tuesday. They blew past the Storm 4-1. The result was nothing new for Crest, who have now won four matchups by three goals or more so far this season.

The win got Crest back to even at 4-4. As for Kings Mountain, their victory bumped their record up to 2-4-2.

Kings Mountain beat Crest 3-1 in their previous meeting back in May of 2024. Will Kings Mountain repeat their success, or does Crest has a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
