Volleyball Recap: Monroe Comes Up Short

Monroe was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They came up short against the Verdugo Hills Dons, falling 3-0. If the Vikings were looking for revenge after losing 3-0 to the Dons when the teams met back in April of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

While Monroe was kept off the board, it wasn't for a lack of trying: they cut into Verdugo Hills' winning margin in every set. The final score came out to 25-9, 25-12, 25-14.

Monroe's defeat dropped their record down to 1-5. As for Verdugo Hills, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 4-3.

Looking ahead, Monroe will venture away from home to square off against Chavez at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Verdugo Hills, they will welcome Poly at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
