Basketball Recap: Hillcrest Lutheran Academy Comes Up Short

On Saturday, the Hillcrest Lutheran Academy Comets came up short against the Mountain Iron-Buhl Rangers and fell 49-39. The game marked the Comets' lowest-scoring match so far this season.

Mountain Iron-Buhl got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Micaden Clines out in front who went 6 for 11 on his way to 17 points and five rebounds. Clines has been hot, having also posted two or more steals the last eight times he's played. Tj Duchamp was another key player, putting up 14 points along with five assists and three steals.

Hillcrest Lutheran Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 3-3. As for Mountain Iron-Buhl, the win (which was their eighth in a row) raised their record to 8-1.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Hillcrest Lutheran Academy will venture away from home to face off against Ashby at 7:15 p.m. on Thursday. One thing working in Ashby's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points every time they've taken the court this season. As for Mountain Iron-Buhl, they will face off against Chisholm at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. Mountain Iron-Buhl is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 76.2 points per game this season.
