Softball Game Preview: El Dorado Aztecs vs. Chapin Huskies

For the second straight game, El Dorado will face off against Chapin. The Aztecs will venture away from home to square off against the Huskies at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday.

El Dorado heads in on the heels of a playoff match on Friday. They took an 11-6 hit to the loss column at the hands of Chapin. The Aztecs' loss signaled the end of their six-game winning streak.

For Chapin's part, Josy Jaime-Garcia was incredible, getting on base in five of her six plate appearances with four runs. That's the most runs Jaime-Garcia has posted since back in March. The team also got some help courtesy of Briana Aponte, who went 2-for-4 with two runs, one double, and one RBI.

Chapin kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least ten hits in seven consecutive contests.

Chapin has been performing well recently as they've won ten of their last 13 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 23-8-2 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 15.2 runs over those games. As for El Dorado, their defeat dropped their record down to 22-9.

Saturday's match will be a test for both teams' pitchers. El Dorado hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .451. However, it's not like Chapin struggles in that department as they've averaged .456. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
