Basketball Recap: Tulelake Has No Trouble Against Modoc

Tulelake hadn't done well against Modoc recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Saturday. The stars were shining brightly for the Honkers in a 57-41 victory over the Braves. The game was the first time the Honkers have beaten the Braves on their court since December 10, 2022.

Modoc lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Shawn Warren, who went 5-for-9 en route to 12 points along with five rebounds and three blocks. He has been hot recently, having posted two or more blocks the last four times he's played. Colin Jeffers also deserves some recognition as he posted his first block of the season.

Tulelake has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-4 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 64.8 points over those games. As for Modoc, their loss dropped their record down to 5-7.

Tulelake and Modoc will both get a bit of extra prep time before their next games. The next time the Honkers see the court they'll take on Hayfork at 7:00 p.m. on January 6, 2026. As for Modoc, their break will end when they face Weed at 8:30 p.m. on January 6, 2026.
