Softball Game Preview: Lake Worth Bullfrogs vs. Springtown Porcupines

Lake Worth is 0-10 against Springtown since April of 2018 but things could change on Tuesday. The Lake Worth Bullfrogs will look to defend their home field against the Springtown Porcupines at 5:30 p.m. Neither of those teams managed to put together many runs in their previous contests, so the offenses might be a little more motivated than usual.

Lake Worth is headed into Tuesday's matchup looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their fourth straight game on Wednesday. They lost 10-0 to Eagle Mountain.

Meanwhile, Springtown entered their tilt with Burkburnett on Wednesday with four consecutive wins , and they'll enter their next game with five. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 2-1 W against the Bulldogs. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Porcupines have posted since February 1st.

Kylee Spray made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She struck out 11 batters over nine innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits (and only one walk). That's the most strikeouts she has posted since back in April of 2024. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with two doubles and one RBI.

Springtown's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 9-5. A key ingredient in that success has been their performance when it comes to hits: they averaged an imposing 8.67 hits in those games compared to only 5.45 in the others. As for Lake Worth, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-7.
