Softball Recap: Jonesboro's Win on Thursday Extends Winning Streak to Three

Jonesboro waltzed into their matchup on Thursday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They put the hurt on the Little Rock Southwest Gryphons with a sharp 13-3 victory. The Hurricane might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six contests by six runs or more this season.

Ella Green and Adalyn Rich did most of the damage at the plate: Green went 3-for-4 with four RBI, two runs, and two doubles, while Rich went 3-for-4 with three runs, two doubles, and one stolen base. Rich continues to improve, besting her previous run total in each of the last three games she's played. Another player making a difference was Braylynn Calloway, who went 3-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Jonesboro kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 15 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least 11 hits in three consecutive games.

Jonesboro's record is now 11-8. As for Little Rock Southwest, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost nine of their last ten matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-10 record this season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Jonesboro will face off against Trumann at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Little Rock Southwest, they will square off against Bryant at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
