The Riverbend Bears will venture away from home to challenge the North Stafford Wolverines at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Both teams are coming into the match red-hot, with Riverbend sitting on 12 straight victories and North Stafford on six.
Riverbend proved they can win big on Monday (they won by 13) and on Tuesday they proved they can win the close ones too. They never let Mountain View get on the board and left with a 1-0 win. Those one runs were actually the fewest the Bears have put up all season, but given the result they're probably not too concerned.

04/22/25 @ Colonial Forge | 1 |
The result came thanks to Chloe King's shutout, as she gave up just two hits and racked up 12 Ks. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than one walk in three consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Jameson Snell, who went 1-for-2 with one home run. That home run was her first of the season.
Meanwhile, it was close, but on Monday North Stafford sidestepped Colonial Forge for a 3-1 victory.
Not much got past Kaylie DeChicchis, who gave up just seven hits and racked up 17 Ks to keep Colonial Forge off the board. Those 17 strikeouts set a new season-high mark for DeChicchis.
At the plate, North Stafford saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kaylee Lizardo, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI.
Riverbend's win was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 14-3. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.4 runs on average over those games. As for North Stafford, their record is now 9-4.
North Stafford's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Riverbend hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .374. It's a different story for North Stafford, though, as they've only averaged .238. Will they be able to contain Riverbend's hitters?
Riverbend beat North Stafford 8-5 when the teams last played on April 8th. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Bears since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
