Softball Recap: Monmouth Academy Find Success

Monmouth Academy came out on top against Winthrop on Wednesday thanks in part to the team's impressive ten-run first inning. The Mustangs never let the Ramblers get on the board and left with a 15-0 win. The Mustangs haven't had any issues with the Ramblers recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.

Shannah Parsons made a splash no matter where she played. She didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out eight over four innings pitched. Parsons was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Rileigh Chase, who went 3-for-4 with four RBI, two runs, and one triple. Another player making a difference was Lauren Burnham, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, one stolen base, and one double.

Monmouth Academy's win bumped their record up to 2-0. As for Winthrop, they now have a losing record of 1-2.
