Baseball Game Preview: Centennial Huskies vs. Corona Panthers

For the second straight game, Centennial will face off against Corona. The Huskies will head out on the road to square off against the Panthers at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.

Centennial is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of California's top teams: Corona, who was ranked first at the time (Centennial was ranked 19th). The Huskies lost 23-3 to the Panthers on Monday. The loss continues a trend for the Huskies in their meetings with the Panthers: they've now lost five in a row.

For Corona's part, Anthony Murphy was a standout: he fired off three home runs and six RBI while going 4-for-7. Those three home runs gave Murphy a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Gavin Flores, who fired off two home runs and seven RBI while going 2-for-6.

Corona always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .643. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Corona pushed their record up to 20-2 with the victory, which was their 13th straight on the road dating back to last season. Those road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.6 runs over those games. As for Centennial, their defeat dropped their record down to 15-5.
