Basketball Recap: Ferriday Proves Higher State Rank Is No Mistake

Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Ferriday walked away with it. They came out on top against the Lake Arthur Tigers by a score of 81-69 on Tuesday. Given the Trojans' advantage in MaxPreps' Louisiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 126th, while the Tigers are ranked 261st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Ferriday has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 24-11 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 72.0 points over those games. Lake Arthur's defeat dropped their record down to 18-24.

Coming up, Ferriday will square off against Delhi on Friday. Delhi will roll in looking for their eighth straight victory, something Ferriday surely won't give up without a fight. Lake Arthur does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
