Recap: Greenwood Christian Hawks vs. Cambridge Academy Cougars
After a string of three wins, the Greenwood Christian Hawks's good fortune finally ran out on Thursday. The match between Greenwood Christian and Cambridge Academy wasn't particularly close, with Greenwood Christian falling 52-33. Greenwood Christian lost against Cambridge Academy in their previous head to head last Monday, too, but the margin this time around was much wider than the 48-27 score last time.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Cambridge Academy to victory, but perhaps none more so than Jillian Mapes, who scored 13 points along with 7 rebounds. Indya Southerland was another key contributor, scoring 11 points along with 5 assists.
Greenwood Christian's defeat dropped their record down to 4-3. As for Cambridge Academy, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 3-1.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Greenwood Christian will challenge Northside Christian Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in South Carolina (Northside Christian Academy is ranked 124th, while Greenwood Christian is ranked 118th). As for Cambridge Academy, they will head out on the road to face off against Richard Winn Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Richard Winn Academy focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 14 on Tuesday.
