Baseball Game Preview: Adair County Indians vs. Casey County Rebels

The Adair County Indians will head out on the road to take on the Casey County Rebels at 8:00 p.m. on Friday. Adair County will be strutting in after a win while Casey County will be coming in after a loss.

On Thursday, Adair County got the win against Green County by a conclusive 15-4. The result was nothing new for the Indians, who have now won 12 contests by seven runs or more so far this season.

Adair County got a massive performance out of Alex Martin, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI. Those four hits gave Martin a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Zane Gist, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, three runs, and two RBI.

They weren't the only ones working in the home run department: Adair County lost a few balls and finished the game with three home runs. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now launched at least two home runs in three consecutive games.

Meanwhile, Casey County unfortunately witnessed the end of their five-game winning streak on Tuesday. They came up short against Russell County, falling 22-0.

Adair County has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 13 of their last 15 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 22-9 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.5 runs over those games. As for Casey County, their defeat dropped their record down to 12-18.

Adair County took their win against Casey County when the teams last played back in May of 2024 by a conclusive 19-11 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Indians since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
