Basketball Recap: Sanyqua Sloan's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Frostproof over Fort Meade

Frostproof was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their tenth straight loss dating back to last season. They fell 38-28 to the Fort Meade Miners. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Bulldogs this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 54-12 back in November.

Frostproof's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Sanyqua Sloan, who posted ten points. Sha'Derricka Sloan was another key player, putting up nine points.

Frostproof's loss dropped their record down to 0-9. As for Fort Meade, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 5-2.

When Frostproof and Fort Meade next hit the court, they'll be up against teams who recently just can't seem to lose. Frostproof will try to stop Lakeland Christian's three-game winning streak when the meet at 7:00 p.m. on January 9, 2025. Similarly, Fort Meade will take on Ridge Community and their three-game winning streak at 7:00 p.m. on January 10, 2025.
