Basketball Recap: Manchester Has No Trouble Against Atlanta Classical Academy

The matchup between Manchester and Atlanta Classical Academy on Wednesday hardly resembled the 0-0 effort from their previous meeting. The Manchester Blue Devils blew past the Atlanta Classical Academy Cavaliers 80-59. The Blue Devils have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won eight matches by 21 points or more this season.

Dre Mcghee continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, putting up 23 points in addition to eight boards and three steals. What's more, he also posted a 80% shooting accuracy, which is the highest he's posted since back in January of 2024. Another player making a difference was Jaedyn Terry, who posted 19 points and eight rebounds.

Manchester smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 22 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 17 offensive boards in six consecutive contests.

Atlanta Classical Academy's loss came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Miller McGowan, who put up 27 points along with six boards and five assists. The game was McGowan's 11th in a row with at least 24 points. Andres Wright was another key player, shooting 4-for-7 from long range and dropping a double-double on 16 points and 15 rebounds.

Manchester's win bumped their record up to 15-2. As for Atlanta Classical Academy, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 10-12.

Manchester has already played their next match, a 64-61 defeat against Mt. Zion on the 7th. As for Atlanta Classical Academy, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 69-41 victory against Greenville on the 7th.
