Baseball Recap: Westfield Comes Up Short

Westfield was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their ninth straight defeat. They took a 10-5 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Nimitz Cougars. The Mustangs were not able to make up for their loss to the Cougars from their previous meeting back in March of 2024.

Westfield saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Christopher Ortiz, who scored a run while going 2-for-2.

Westfield's defeat dropped their record down to 2-13. As for Nimitz, their victory ended a 13-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 4-10.

While Westfield had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
