Basketball Recap: Lockport Comes Up Short

Lockport lost against North Tonawanda back in February of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Lockport Lions were dealt a 102-39 defeat at the hands of the North Tonawanda Lumberjacks. The Lions were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 53-20.

Annabelle Day continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines for North Tonawanda, dropping a double-double on 40 points and 13 rebounds. The contest was Day's seventh in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Lilly Day, who dropped a double-double on 26 points and ten rebounds.

Lockport's loss was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 3-2. As for North Tonawanda, their win bumped their record up to 6-1.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Lockport will challenge Kenmore West at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for North Tonawanda, they will head out on the road to face off against Williamsville North at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
