Baseball Game Preview: Firebaugh Falcons vs. Paramount Pirates

Firebaugh hasn't had much luck against Paramount recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Falcons will square off against the Pirates at 3:15 p.m.

Firebaugh is headed into Friday's game looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their fourth straight game on Tuesday. They took a 4-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of Paramount. The home team had taken home the W every time these teams have met since April 3, 2023, but that streak is no more.

For Paramount's part, Israel Hernandez looked comfortable as he pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Hernandez has been consistent : he hasn't given up more than two hits any time he's pitched this season.

At the plate, Luis Banuelos was excellent, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-4. Paramount is undefeated when Banuelos posts two or more runs, but 6-7 otherwise. Jacob Lara was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one double and one RBI.

Paramount has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won nine of their last ten contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 12-7 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.6 runs over those games. As for Firebaugh, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-5.
