Baseball Recap: Sto-Rox Comes Up Short

Sto-Rox was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their 16th straight defeat dating back to last season. They came up short against the Ellwood City Wolverine, falling 8-2. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Wolverine this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 23-1 last Monday.

Sto-Rox's loss dropped their record down to 0-7. As for Ellwood City, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 7-3.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Sto-Rox will square off against Riverside at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. The Panthers' pitching crew has only allowed two runs per game this season, so the Vikings' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Ellwood City, they will welcome Quaker Valley at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. The Quakers will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something the Wolverine surely won't give up without a fight.
