Basketball Recap: Peoples Academy Takes a Loss

Peoples Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They fell 67-55 to the North Country Union Falcons. The Wolves lost against the Falcons in their previous head to head back in February of 2024, too, but the margin this time around was much closer than the 74-27 score last time.

Despite the loss, Peoples Academy saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Jack Lafayette posted 29 points in addition to five rebounds and three steals. That was a full 52.7% of Peoples Academy's points, marking the fifth time in a row he's had more than a third of the team's points. Mason Wells was another key player, putting up eight points.

Peoples Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 5-11. As for North Country Union, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 8-7.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Peoples Academy will venture away from home to take on Lamoille at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. As for North Country Union, they will head out on the road to challenge Hazen at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
