Preview: Norwalk Lancers vs. Mayfair Monsoons
Norwalk is 1-7 against Mayfair since September of 2014 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Norwalk Lancers will head out on the road to face off against the Mayfair Monsoons at 7:00 p.m. Norwalk is hoping to put an end to a four-game streak of away losses.
Last Friday, it was a hard-fought contest, but Norwalk had to settle for a 32-30 defeat against Dominguez.
Meanwhile, it's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 49-14, which was the final score in Mayfair's tilt against Downey on Friday. While losing is never fun, Mayfair can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California football rankings (they are ranked 205th, while Downey is ranked 98th).
Norwalk has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost five of their last six games, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-6 record this season. As for Mayfair, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-3.
Norwalk took a serious blow against Mayfair in their previous meeting back in October of 2021, falling 48-7. Can Norwalk avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
