Baseball Game Preview: Eldorado Sundevils vs. Rancho Rams

Eldorado is 0-10 against Rancho since March of 2017 but things could change on Thursday. The Sundevils will venture away from home to take on the Rams at 4:00 p.m.

On Tuesday, Eldorado came up short against Rancho and fell 4-1.

For Rancho's part, Johnny Ramos made a splash no matter where he played. On the mound, he struck out ten batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits (and not a single walk). Ramos also tossed no walks, which is notable because Rancho is 4-2 when he allows at most one walk, but 5-11 otherwise. Ramos was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

In other batting news, Mayson Bumstead was excellent, going 1-for-3 with one triple, one stolen base, and one run. Daniel Rojas also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.

Rancho kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post 11 or more hits.

Rancho is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-13 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games. As for Eldorado, their loss dropped their record down to 6-10.
