Basketball Recap: Capital Snaps Eight-Game Streak of Wins at Home

Capital entered their game against Mountain View on Tuesday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. The Capital Golden Eagles fell 67-56 to the Mountain View Mavericks. The matchup marked the Golden Eagles' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Mountain View's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Cooper Patterson, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and 17 rebounds. With that strong performance, Patterson is now averaging an impressive 15.1 points per game. The team also got some help courtesy of Landon Starnes, who posted 20 points and five rebounds.

Capital's loss ended an eight-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 9-2. As for Mountain View, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 7-3.

Capital will head out to square off against Rocky Mountain at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Capital knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past 11 games -- so hopefully Rocky Mountain likes a good challenge. As for Mountain View, they will welcome Kuna at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Mountain View is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 64.4 points per game this season.
