Softball Recap: Marais des Cygnes Valley Comes Up Short

Marais des Cygnes Valley was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They fell 8-5 to the Chase County Bulldogs. The Trojans were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Bulldogs apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in April of 2024.

Akyra Traver made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and scored two runs and stole three bases while going 3-for-3. She is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last 12 games she's played dating back to last season. Trista DeCavele also deserves some recognition as she brought in her first RBI of the season.

Marais des Cygnes Valley's defeat dropped their record down to 1-6. As for Chase County, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-2.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: the Bulldogs beat Marais des Cygnes Valley by a score of 14-10 later that day.
