Softball Recap: Brewer Takes a Loss

Brewer was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They came up short against the Sparkman Senators, falling 15-1. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Senators this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 15-11 back in February.

Breia Rusk was cooking despite her team's loss, going 1-for-3 with one home run.

Brewer's defeat dropped their record down to 9-7-1. As for Sparkman, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 22-8-1 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Brewer will square off against Priceville at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Sparkman, they will venture away from home to face off against Meade County at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Green Waves' pitching crew has only allowed 2.2 runs per game this season, so the Senators' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
