Soccer Game Preview: Brawley vs. Holtville

The Brawley Wildcats will head out on the road to face off against the Holtville Vikings at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Brawley's last three matches have been decided by no more than a goal, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.

On Friday, Brawley didn't have quite enough to beat Central and fell 4-3. While losing is never fun, the Wildcats can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 311th, while the Spartans are ranked 71st).

Meanwhile, Holtville was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They were a single goal away from ending the streak, but they lost a 1-0 heartbreaker at the hands of Imperial.

Holtville's defeat dropped their record down to 6-12-2. As for Brawley, their loss dropped their record down to 14-8-2.

Brawley skirted past Holtville 2-1 when the teams last played two weeks ago. The rematch might be a little tougher for Brawley since the squad won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
