Baseball Recap: Broome Comes Up Short

Broome fought the good fight in their extra-innings game against Chesnee on Thursday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Chesnee Eagles by a score of 7-6. The Centurions were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Eagles apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in March of 2024.

Dylan Ramirez was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-4. He also brought in an RBI, marking his first of the season.

Broome's loss dropped their record down to 2-4. As for Chesnee, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 4-6.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Broome will venture away from home to face off against Woodruff at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Chesnee, they will head out to take on Brashier Middle College Charter at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Brashier Middle College Charter has struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 10.4 runs per game on average), something Chesnee will no doubt try to take advantage of.
