Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Eastern Montgomery). They took down the Rural Retreat Indians 65-46 on Saturday. The win was nothing new for the Mustangs as they're now sitting on eight straight.

Eastern Montgomery's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Cyrus Underwood, who went 6 of 11 en route to 14 points. Another player making a difference was Grayson Caldwell, who posted 12 points.

Eastern Montgomery smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 11 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards in eight consecutive games.

Eastern Montgomery pushed their record up to 8-3 with the win, which was their sixth straight at home. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 56.8 points per game. As for Rural Retreat, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-12.

When Eastern Montgomery and Rural Retreat next hit the court, they'll be up against teams who recently just can't seem to lose. Eastern Montgomery will face off against Narrows and their four-game winning streak at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. Similarly, Rural Retreat will try to stop Patrick Henry's six-game winning streak when the meet at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
