Baseball Recap: Central York Triumphs

Central York lost to Cedar Crest back in March of 2024, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Monday. The Panthers came out on top against the Falcons by a score of 8-3. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Panthers.

Evan Groff made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he pitched 3.2 innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off one hit. He is becoming a predictor of Central York's success: when he allows at most one hit the team is 2-1 (and 8-9 when he doesn't). Groff was also big at the plate, going 1-for-2 with two RBI. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in April.

In other batting news, Luke Burch and Jacob Laughman did most of the damage at the plate: Burch got on base in all five of his plate appearances with three runs, while Laughman went 2-for-4 with four RBI and two runs. That's the most runs Burch has posted since back in March.

The win got Central York back to even at 10-10. As for Cedar Crest, their loss was their sixth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 6-15.

As of now, neither Central York nor the Falcons have any future games scheduled.
