Softball Recap: Central Noble Picks Up Seventh Straight Win at Home

Central Noble waltzed into their matchup on Saturday with three straight wins... but they left with four. Everything went their way against the Goshen RedHawks as they made off with an 18-1 win. Considering the Cougars have won ten contests by more than six runs this season, Saturday's blowout was nothing new.

Kensy Kimmell made a splash no matter where she played. She didn't allow a single earned run over five innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than one walk in five consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with three RBI, one run, and one double. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in May of 2024.

In other batting news, Avery Deter was incredible, going 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, three runs, and one triple. That triple marked the first that she has hit this season. Another player making a difference was Kierra Bolen, who went 1-for-3 with three runs and one stolen base.

Central Noble hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least four batters in 12 consecutive games.

Central Noble's victory was their seventh straight at home, which pushed their record up to 12-4. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.4 runs over those games. As for Goshen, they have been struggling recently as they've lost seven of their last eight matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-11-1 record this season.

Central Noble didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 12-0 victory against Adams Central on the 10th. As for Goshen, they will head out to face off against Mishawaka at 5:30 p.m. on Monday.
