Basketball Recap: Southbridge Takes a Loss

Southbridge lost against Prouty last Wednesday and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The Southbridge Pioneers fell 54-47 to the Prouty Panthers. While losing is never fun, the Pioneers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Massachusetts basketball rankings (they are ranked 225th, while the Panthers are ranked 76th).

Southbridge's loss dropped their record down to 1-8. As for Prouty, they pushed their record up to 6-1 with the win, which was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Southbridge will challenge Oxford at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Southbridge is facing Oxford at the right time seeing as Oxford is stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Prouty, they will square off against Grafton at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.
