Softball Recap: Dover Pirates vs. South Side Hornet        
        
		
            
 Dover was the  10-5 winner over South Side when they last played one another  back in April of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. The Dover Pirates wound up on the wrong side of a  rough 11-3 walloping at the hands of the South Side Hornet on Thursday. Dover has now  taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
 Dover saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was  Addisyn Anderson, who  scored a  run while going 1-for-3.
 On South Side's side,  Ana Goodwin made a splash no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound,   not allowing a single  earned run and  only one  hit over four innings pitched. Goodwin has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't  given up  more than two  walks in four consecutive pitching appearances. Goodwin was also solid in the batter's box,  scoring two  runs while going 2-for-5.
 In other batting news, South Side let  Haddi Hulse and  Hallie Holland loose on the outfield. Hulse  scored two  runs and  stole a base while going 2-for-4, while  Holland  scored a  run while going 2-for-4. The team also got some help courtesy of  Laciegh Duncan, who  went 1-for-3 with two  RBI and a  double.
 Dover's defeat dropped their record down to 9-17. As for South Side, they are  on a roll lately: they've  won three of their last four matchups,  which provided a nice bump to their 17-7-1 record  this season.
 Dover does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for South Side, they are on the road again  on Friday to play Izard County at 4:30  p.m. Both teams will come into the  game having just posted big wins, so someone is set to suffer a big change in fortunes.
