Volleyball Game Preview: Lakota West Firebirds vs. Roger Bacon Spartans

Lakota West hasn't had much luck against Roger Bacon recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Firebirds will look to defend their home court against the Spartans at 6:00 p.m. Lakota West will be strutting in after a win while Roger Bacon will be coming in after a loss.

On Saturday, Lakota West got the win against Edgewood by a conclusive 3-0.

Lakota West relied on the efforts of Brookelyn Humphrey, who had 14 digs and three aces, and Ava Kennedy, who had 12 assists and nine digs. Those nine digs gave Kennedy a new career-high.

They weren't the only good servers: Lakota West was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 11 aces. They are 8-1 when they serve at least ten aces.

Meanwhile, Roger Bacon lost 3-0 to Mount Notre Dame on Saturday.

Roger Bacon's defeat dropped their record down to 7-11. As for Lakota West, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-5 record this season.
