Volleyball Game Preview: Dr. Phillips Panthers vs. Ocoee Knights

Dr. Phillips has gone a perfect 9-0 against Ocoee recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Monday. The Panthers will look to defend their home court against the Knights at 6:30 p.m. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this matchup.

Dr. Phillips lost 3-0 to Windermere on Thursday.

The defeat didn't mean the game wasn't competitive: Windermere scored at least 17 points in every set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-21, 25-17, 25-20.

Evan Cervantes put forth a good effort for the losing side as he had 17 digs and one assist. He has been hot recently, having posted 11 or more digs the last four times he's played.

Meanwhile, Ocoee was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss dating back to last season. They fell 3-1 to Oak Ridge.

Ocoee was was forced to take the loss, but they sure made Oak Ridge work for it, especially in the fourth set. The match finished with set scores of 25-16, 25-23, 25-27, 26-24.

Dr. Phillips' defeat dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Ocoee, their loss dropped their record down to 0-3.

Dr. Phillips got the 'W' in their previous matchup back in March of 2025 against Ocoee by a conclusive 3-0 score. Do the Panthers have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Knights turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
